Inspired by the old black rain-soaked tree in our back yard. It always broke my heart to mow the lawn in the spring because our cute little suburban yard was full of all the wildflowers that came up effortlessly and beautifully all season long. This is one of my favorite oil paintings I've done. Just as natural and effortless as those little springtime wild flowers popped up, this painting came to me so effortlessly and naturally after I began painting. No plan before painting. Just a pure authentic flow of inspiration.
